Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026
Naerly stores your data in your own Apple iCloud — not on our servers. There is no account to create, no tracking, and no analytics. The developer cannot see your countdowns, people, photos, or journal entries.
Who this applies to
This policy describes how the Naerly app (“Naerly”, “the app”, “we”) handles your information on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It applies to the app itself; it does not change Apple’s own privacy practices, which are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
What data Naerly works with
Naerly is built around the content you choose to add, such as:
- Events and countdowns — titles, dates, recurrence, tags, and notes.
- People you link to events, and any details you add about them.
- Photos or themed covers you attach to events.
- Journal entries and app preferences (themes, icons, settings).
You can edit or delete any of this at any time from within the app.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced across your devices through Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit using your personal Apple Account. It travels over Apple’s encrypted infrastructure and is held in your private iCloud database. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or process your content.
What the developer can access
Nothing. Because your content lives in your private iCloud and never passes through our systems, the developer has no ability to read, collect, or recover your events, people, photos, or journal.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
Naerly contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not share or sell any information — because we do not have it.
No third-party data processors
Aside from Apple, which provides the device platform and iCloud sync, Naerly relies on no third-party data processors. There is no Google, Firebase, or external backend involved.
Device permissions
Some features ask for your permission, and the access stays on your device:
- Photos — only to attach images you pick to your events.
- Calendars — optional, read-only import of events from your device calendars.
- Notifications — to deliver the reminders you set.
You can change or revoke any of these in your device’s Settings at any time.
Calendar feeds you add
If you subscribe to a holiday or custom calendar feed (ICS), your device fetches it from the URL you provide. Naerly does not route these requests through us.
Children
Naerly is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. As all data stays in your own iCloud, no information about any user is transmitted to us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version here. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
